A shot rings out

In between all of the Elvis goodness we did get a chance visit the site in Memphis where Martin Luther King was killed.

Totally by coincidence I'd watched the excellent The Night James Brown Saved Boston on the flight over, and was blown away by the calm humility and gravitas of Dr King.

They've turned the motel into a museum for Civil Rights. It cuts a spooky and quiet shadow in an otherwise run-down area south of Beale Street.
